How can we make sense of God?
Perhaps you don’t know much about God, or are not that bothered. On the other hand, maybe you already believe in the God who created the universe, mankind, and all the animals, plants and trees around us.
Wherever you currently sit on this, it’s still sometimes tricky to get your head around who God is and how he works in our lives.
God is not distant – He’s all around us, in everything we touch and see. Imagine God’s power being like electricity. Electricity is everywhere: in the air around us, in our homes and even within us as static electricity. In a similar way, God’s power is all around us and within us, making things happen, steering our lives and circumstances.
God listens to us – Not like ‘big brother’ but as someone who is there for us to talk to. We can tell him the things that make us happy and give us joy, or ask for help with the darkest things that trouble us. We may not realise at the time how he is helping us. But, if we ask him, he will!
God is always available – He has no opening hours, time limits or restrictions on who can have a relationship with him. God is always there for us – 24/7, 365. He guides our lives if we ask him. You may not notice a response at first, but in time he will respond, perhaps in ways we do not expect.
So, just like a parent who loves and cares for their child, God loves and cares for us. If we seek him out, he will be there for us and never leave us. If you’d like to find out more about how to build a relationship with God, please get in touch, come along to any of our services, or simply read his word the Bible.
